Hi,
Been loving this resurrection of the tribes series. Been playing a lot of hours lately and wanted to drop my 2 cents in a drive-by shooting sessions, so here I go:
- I REALLY miss having my cool sword melee attack
- Smoke grenades are a cool concept, but they should disallow seeing player icons through them, and maybe have a small expanding sphere effect.
- Sensors are too strong in this game, it shouldn't show the entire map
- I like how you can retain your speed at more forgiving landing angles
- I love how weak snipers and machineguns feel (and how nonexistent hitscan weapons are)
- The sniper projectile should have more visible trails when fired, right now it is hard to train as you cant see it (unlike spinfusor trails). It would also add more counterplay to spotting sitting duck snipers firing.
- Jugs should do a bit more impact damage to cappers as a tradeoff to having a smaller impact area compared to previous games
- I love how snappy the ski start feels, and the little boost in momentum you get
- The impact nade blast radius feels very small in this game, I am not sure if intentional, but I miss having real range on it. Not just that, you only get 1 nade instead of 3.
- Engineers feel like the weakest class, some new cool abilities like a shockblast stunner turret would be really cool on it (a small range turret that "stuns" someone and reduces movement speed by quite a bit and energy by a lot for instance). This would allow it to be a "medium on flag" playstyle as well
- The classes having perks is a nice way of balancing the game imo
- I like the increased midair hitboxes, very forgiving for new players as well
- I love having inheritance be a setting in the options menu
Overall, that's it, the game feels snappy and satisfying, I am glad for the devs making it
