Tips for heavy defence

Hi all,

Returning tribes player, having lots of fun with the Tribes 3 demo so far.

I need help playing heavy defence, mostly in 4v4 ( bomb // honor ball ). Is there a trick to using the dome shield? It seems very random. Sometimes it will block the bomb, sometimes it looks like it does nothing.

Is it just me?
