      :: A word of causion A word of causion Hey guys, so basically i played Tribes back in the day, in the browser, idk how that was possible but it worked ( it was third person or something ) Anyway, since i favorited the game it poped up today that is is in early access, great i go to steam open up the store page. Hmm negative reviews, probably haters lets check the discord. I join, alot of people criticising the devs and stuff nothing unusual, check the EU region chat ( my region) people aparantly have trouble finding games Back to general chat people complaining, then i see someone say something in the lines of that he bought the game he likes tribes but he has to leave a negative review for some reason ( he stated quite alot of them ) Some dev guys responds with " So by leaving a bad review you want the game to die alredy " or something along those lines And i chime in oh well he is entitled to any review he wants, he bought the game if you guys want 17 euros for some early access shenanigans with 50 euro dlc DAY 1 he can write whatever the hell he wants. Every single match is filled with bots without any [AI] tag or BOT in nickname, they just have a random nicknames to make you feel like you are playing with real players but you can 100% notice that every single of them are just bots. Right now i refunded the game, maybe if they fix this bs and stop lying to players by trying to tell them that this stupid AI are real players i will think about buying it again. EDIT: Forgot to mention that this is an ONLINE game where you are playing (or at least should be playing cuz in this case they just use AI for that LOL) with other players, AND YOU CAN'T EVEN TALK TO THEM WTF IS THIS. But 75% of the reviews already up are negative, from people who obviously played the play-test and already knew they didn't like it. I'd have been happy even without the dates to expect updates. They have already responded with one of things I was so concerned about. That is good progress and I am happy to be shown wrong about this. Now let's see them remove that terrible AI artwork in the next update.       :: T3. Bugs and no response or fix. T3. Bugs and no response or fix. I've thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. I do feel, however, that one thing is keeping me from purchasing it. The sheer ammount of bugs. But that's not really it. I've posted more then a few bug threads in bug reports and none have been responded to by a dev or community lead. So I got to looking and none of them have. Some of these are pretty terrible bugs even to the point of killing the experience for the players that have them. I've never seen a game that wasn't old and dead not have some kind of response to these kinds of reports. Does this mean there is no intention of fixing them? Excuse the paranoia but the companies track record isn't the shiniest. This isn't a flame the devs post just a concerned enjoyer of the game post. When you do something that causes peopleto loose trust in you it's up to you to earn it back. You abandoned Ascend for smite. Now smite2 has been announced shortly after t3 starts having pt. People paid for starter packages for deadzone and deadzone was dropped with those people not getting their money back. 20 isn't much. I would definitely get my moneys worth in a very short period of time. However I cannot and will not support a dev team that continues to make fools of its customers.       :: T:A to T3 T:A to T3 T:A player here. Played T:A from the moment I saw TotalBiscuit’s (RIP) video on the game and till the day it pretty much died. Clocked over 1500 hrs in the game, probably more but that was the last time I looked at it. I have no experience in T1, T2 or T:V. Can’t relate to you all 🤷‍♂️ Before T:A, the shooters I played were CS, COD, Quake, UT. So I guess you could say that before Tribes I was your casual Andy (probably still am). Now that that’s out of the way, in my entire playtime in T:A I have used vehicles like 3 times. Plenty of others did but that was never my thing. Didn’t care for it then, don’t care for it now. If they add it tho - great. Most fun I had came from team play and the core of the game. You go fast, you grab the flag, you try not to die. Or you do everything to prevent the grab or get it back. T:A provided a great amount of gameplay variety within one game, one mode. Here’s what would actually matter to me and would make current version of T3 good/better: Voice chat, VGS is great but I want the ability to communicate freely. FishStix, I think, mentioned proximity voice chat, that’s shit would be fire. Sniper rifles gotta be better. I’m not saying let’s go back to hitscan but something is gotta give. Feels like I’m shooting airsoft that misses most of the time. What is the point of a sniper that can’t hit shit from a far? Maybe a little more projectile speed will do it. Maybe also a little more work on animations. Again, don’t make it op, make it viable. Another great idea from a vid I saw earlier is DTM flag timer. Have that shit reset every minute and in one of couple spawn points around the map. This will make the game more chaotic and one team won’t be able to hog the flag. Create a party lobby. Ranked mode pug and party. Personally don’t care for server browser but I see the benefits of custom servers. Have a browser but also have a quick play button. I’ll be happy. New “feel of the game” I’ll get used to, little tweaks will be made and it will be chill. Idk, I feel good about T3. See you all Shazbots on the field. Edit: I will be buying the game day one and all the cosmetic bs they will throw at me.       :: Do you guys ACTUALLY want vehicles in T3? Do you guys ACTUALLY want vehicles in T3? One of the most common complaints I've seen about T3 is the lack of vehicles. It's perfectly fine to want vehicles in T3, however, I went onto Youtube and Twitch, searched for "tribes 1" and "tribes 2", and I noticed something: Every video within the past 5-10 years didn't have any vehicles whatsoever. I'm not saying the games didn't have vehicles. If you go out of your way to look for videos with vehicles in T1/T2, you'll find them. However, what I'm saying is Tribes players that are still playing today seemed to have moved away from them, including T1/T2 players. Maybe someone here can demonstrate otherwise, but I'm seeing a disconnect between what people on this subreddit say what they want, and what people who are actually playing the game actually use. Banned Land https://discord.gg/Xz2qP7wQJe They created an entire discord channel in the case you get banned. So you can discuss it with their moderators. If you are banning someone from a channel or a game. Maybe I'm kind of new to this moderation thing. But I do our Tribes AA sub reddit. Help out over at psrewired discord that has like 6k people and then my lowly TAA channel of like 300 people. Typically if someone is banned they have directly violated a set in stone rule multiple times. Not have done something that you can potentially come back from. I mean the Auto mod might kick you from a channel for using certain terms of speech. Sharing certain nsfw content, etc. But a ban is typically a serious offense. Erez on his rampage was threatening random members with bans etc. So rather than just come out to the community and apologize for being off the chain for a day. The answer was to create a new channel for discussions of bans? I totally understand where his frustrations were coming from but this seems a bit strange and almost laughable. Part of moderation is typically walking away and not letting your personal feelings get involved in whatever conversation arises. Not everyone is going to agree with the directions thing's go. That's just the nature of the beast. Maybe I'm in that boat of disagreement with this being the reaction and solution. I'm not mad. Just over here confused and laughing about it.       :: Holding on purchasing Tribes 3 Holding on purchasing Tribes 3 After doing some research on Prophecy games, Starsiege Deadzone, the lack of a roadmap or plans for building up Tribes 3 Rivals, and the way the company is banning community that speaks up, I am holding my money for at least 3 months in early access. I sat down today to play the latest play test and now it appears that cheap AI artwork has been added to the banners as achievements for leveling up. It doesn't match the art style of the series or the feel of the game. It's the last straw and makes me feel uncomfortable with giving this company my money. Deadzone was previewed in the 2023 Steam's summer next fest with some hype. But they dropped it after a few months of making money on it and now we have tribes 3 following the exact same release path. Watching videos on the game, you can see they reused art and model assets from Deadzone in Tribes 3. I am very afraid that they plan to make a quick buck on this game and drop it for their darling Honorball idea. I am putting this out there in the ether to remind myself in three months to check back in on the game. I hope I am wrong and there is a beautiful community of players skiing around in new fun maps, game modes and inventory stations. If anyone remembers the old Gamespy network of “planet” websites I used to write articles for Planet Tribes or whatever it was called. At my age I play slower games these days like Dota but am planning to check this out. Not so sure I will be able to own the server anymore though lol.       :: Questions/help needed on figuring out how to play Tribes 3 Questions/help needed on figuring out how to play Tribes 3 So I've been playing this playtest for a few weeks and I still cant figure it out. There are all these things I used to spend 90% of my time doing in T1, T2, and TA and all these basic important features I used to use all the time and I cant find any of them. I don't know if my game is broken or the game is still mostly unfinished even as an early access or if I'm just an idiot. Please help me with instructions for the following: How do I initiate a kick vote to get someone out of the match quickly? I dont want to wait for "report". Where is the list of all the servers/matches going on? If nothing else, this one feature is super important to me. I need to be able to select which server to join, find my friends/regulars, rejoin disconnected matches, see what map is being played, how much time is left, what the score is, how many players there are, how many bots are playing, etc. I dont want to just join a random server. How do I start the game offline so I can still enjoy it when I don't have 24/7 internet service? Right now if Im offline I'm just stuck at a login screen. That would prevent me from being able to launch any of the single players functions when offline. How do I play campaign mode or training mode? How do I host my own game on the master server with custom physics and stuff? How do I host a server on my local machine or my LAN? How do I use dlss graphics? The graphics are pretty demanding at 4k and I was hoping I could use this so I don't have to spend $1K on a new gpu. How do I use the map editor? How do I publish/host a game modification with custom weapons, maps, and nuclear bombs? Where is the code tab/~ console where I see debug info, enter computer commands, directly join a server/ip, send a message directly to a player, initiate a vote, etc? How do I send a message to my team? How do I use the laser pointer gun? How do I fire an orbital strike? How do I take control of a base turret manually? Where is the vehicle pad? How do I ride a vehicle or bomb the base? How do I play the other game modes like rabbit, bombing run, arena, and deathmatch? How do I deploy a base wall, forcefield, inventory station, emp turret etc? How do I see who the bots are, or join a game without bots? How do I leave the bounds? One great thing about the tribes games I loved was how big and expansive the maps were and you could usually leave even whatever "grid boundaries" were there. But now I seem to run into this invisible wall above at a very short distance, above some sort of stadium thing. Am I supposed to find a door/tunnel inside the walls like football stadium? Or are there going to be other modes/patches where this wall is turned off? Where do I see the stats of how fast I went and who made the fastest flag grab at what speed? How do I get the game to work with my firewall on? Right now all I can do it completely turn off my firewall and make my PC insecure. Is there some kind of exception or port Im supposed to add? How do I bind the key that both jumps and skis on the same key? I'm not used to having to use two different keys and its hard. I dont know what happened but it's like I suddenly cant figure out how to do anything. The functionality I seem to have available to me makes the game seem like this hollow shell that faintly resembles tribes but is missing 90% of the features of tribes or even any fps ive ever played.
