      :: The game needs work, but.. The game needs work, but.. Holy shit it feels good to be blue plating efc’s again. Extended (for anyone that cares): I’m not that great at this game, nor any of the previous instalments, but I was popping off in my lobbies which can only mean there are a lot of new players trying this game out.. This is a good thing, and I strongly believe the devs should do what they can to retain these new players… We’ve all seen the “hi-rez bad” posts, so I’ll leave that part out. I sincerely hope we all (new and veteran players alike) can get a miracle of a game that ticks all boxes without sacrificing the core elements of Tribes. The game in its current state is shallow but fun. I’m extremely cautiously optimistic. I hope they don’t fuck it up. Edit: Thank you for the responses! For all that mentioned I was playing against bots; you were absolutely right. So I got out of the bot lobbies after a few more games and lo and behold, there were real people slinging discs. The bots are fairly easy to spot because of their name. Now that I’ve played in real people lobbies (lol) my original post still stands, now with a more up to date perspective. I played mostly casual CTF (16v16) and the lobbies were all full with xx_pug-stomper_xx and similar names. You could immediately tell who has played tribes before and who hasn’t. Anyways, thanks!       :: PSA: Tribes 3 weapon stats are misleading PSA: Tribes 3 weapon stats are misleading I was playing around in the Shooting Range training mode, and I noticed some things: Despite the medium class Thumper claiming to do 700 damage, direct hits actually do 980. This is more than even a direct hit from a Heavy Spinfusor, which is 912! The Thumper also has better splash damage than the medium spinfusor, and basically no projectile drop, so the only real downside vs the spinfusor is slightly higher reload time. The bullet based weapons have damage falloff, so they do less damage from farther away. The falloff rate appears different per weapon, with the Sparrow Pistol seeming to have the most rapid falloff. There does appear to be a minimum damage amount however. The bullet based weapons are not hitscan, so you have to account for travel time. This may be obvious to other people, but I wasn't sure at first if I was missing due to bad aim or lag. View Reddit by acunym - View Source by acunym

      :: Tribes 3 wishlist Tribes 3 wishlist I will preface this by saying that the subreddit is super harsh on Tribes 3. I am very much enjoying it and its pretty fun. Tribes 3 should be based on tribes 1 and 2 rather than on Ascend. Different color nametags for party members. Text chat obviously. Proximity V sounds. Seems short sighted to not have a built in clan\tribe system in a game that pioneered gaming clans and is called "tribes". Requirement to use an inventory station to change class and weapons from a base loadout. This will make keeping the generator up more valuable/ Encourage building of defences and playing defensive roles. 3 mines or 1 mine available from all classes from spawn.       :: Come play ranked Tribes 3 on Saturday! Event starts at 4 PM EDT in the Competitive Discord. Come play ranked Tribes 3 on Saturday! Event starts at 4 PM EDT in the Competitive Discord. This is a follow up to the post I made a few days ago. Tomorrow (Saturday, March 23rd) starting at 4PM EDT we are going to get as many people playing ranked as we can. If you're new to 7v7, over on the T3 Comp Discord we're going to set up groups that have an experienced player in them to help you learn the basics. If you're an experienced player, we'll also get you in to a group to queue with. Or you can just play ranked however and with whoever you want. We're going to start on EU servers, then we'll make new teams and switch to NA at 8 PM EDT. A lot more information here. A few other small additions: 1) I'm going to have a place for anyone who plays Saturday to upload any highlight clips they get from that day. I'll put together a small community highlight reel as long as enough people send some in. Look in to OBS's Replay Buffer feature if you haven't done something like that before. 2) I don't know how many we'll need, but if you're experienced in competitive play and want to help out, we'll need some people to help new players get started. You don't need to sign up or anything, just try and be there at either (or both) start times so we can pair you up with some newbloods. Thanks!       :: former tribes ascend content creator – is Rivals worth downloading? former tribes ascend content creator - is Rivals worth downloading? Hi, I used to create tribes ascend content. Mostly to capture "fun" moments but I also did a few infiltrator guides and some jugg videos many years ago. I went by ShawnJr then. I have a simple question - is Tribes Rivals worth downloading from the perspective of creating content for casual audience? This is to say is the game fun for casual audience? I just want to put it out there that I have very little interest in competitive play. Is there any worthwhile content to be made? I see some videos and all I see is the usual blueplate and capping videos lol...I have no interest in making that. Is there anything more to this game or is that it? I barely even see any videos on engineers (sounds like that is almost a non-existing role), infil, or even jugg. Is Rivals too focused on flag and flag and flag or is there room for goofs to fuck around? edit: does melee even exist in this game? Also, does this game have original maps?       :: T3:R VS T:A activity charts (1 week) T3:R VS T:A activity charts (1 week) So yea this is a chart showing the alignment of the two games' launch charts. so yea now you can see how T3 and T:A compared to each other with the addition of the T3 playtests. the blue line is T:A and the little faint green one is tribes 3. 1 week report The time I'm writing this T3 only has 275 players which equals about 8 16v16 matches, but with bots might be around 10. this game doesn't have a future, and honestly with prophecy at the helm no one is surprised. Here is some dueling practice shot with no hud. It's been great to see old players show up. Newer players from other tribes games join in the group and have some fun.
